The iPhone vs Android debate is one of the most talked about debates in society today, there are countless reviews and comparisons to be made on how they both compare, where can you go wrong? How much better is the $800+ Apple or Google phone to choose from, which price tag will benefit you?
In this article we're going to look into the two main reasons why i’m going to give my verdict in favor of the Samsung Galaxy S7+ if offered.
The specs and hardware
Just by looking at these phones its obvious that the iPhones have been dominating the market for quite a while now and with each generation, the iPhone has become more powerful. You could even say that over time the iPhone X had surpassed the iPad and Macbook Pro, but still in terms of power and features the iPhone just won it out to dominate the competition that year. From what I’ve seen so far the iPhone 12 series will be getting a big increase to the battery capacity and storage. Also from what I’ve seen so far the iPhone 12 series should have the same screen size range for the 5G enabled models as well. So for me, I would personally look to upgrade the iPhone 11 series if offered, but with a bigger display and RAM I think its worth it.
The rest of the hardware specs are probably not too important. But when your looking to take a step up in performance you might want something reliable like the iPhone 6. Maybe with some custom software like iOS 13 you'll make do with the 7+ without having to worry too much, but its hard to convince myself. When you look into all the different configurations that the iPhone can offer, you get many options. For example, you can get a 64GB 4G, 128GB 4G and 256GB 6.4 6 or 4 6. This gives you a more flexible option, but also makes it harder to find exactly what you need. And depending on who you ask, you get choices like 16GB for an unlocked version, 128GB for a monthly fee, 512GB for unlimited users or 1TB for your entire family. Even though the iPhone 11 had 4 cameras compared to the iPhone 10, 8 and 7 you still end up choosing between a wide angle lens or telephoto lens when deciding what lenses to use. That said all this does not matter when you're shopping around, but there are always new options that you get to try that will change things entirely.
The one area where Samsung has taken the lead is battery life. Since it's one of the biggest selling points of any smart phone you can definitely expect great battery life, especially if you have kids living with you. With the A13 Bionic the battery will last you 2 days between charges. As soon as the charging is done you can get recharging through USB-C. What's amazing though is that even though I'm using my phone constantly I don't feel like its draining the battery. It only takes me about 15 minutes to see a charge on.
The OS
Apple's latest operating system is always fast and stable, which helps with the stability and reliability. Another thing that makes Apple the superior OS is being 100% free, it doesn't come with extra costs like other apps have. Even though you get paid monthly plans you cannot get away from paying a bunch of money just to upgrade your device. Plus the fact that its open source makes it a lot easier to modify. To put it simply, Apple is obviously providing its user base with everything they need to keep their phones running smoothly. I am sure that there will be people who will complain when trying to switch to another app, but I'd rather have an easy way of doing so than deal with all the hassle.
The security
If you take anything away out of this blogpost, especially with regards to this topic, I'd recommend that you stay away from anything related to internet banking, because for one hell of a reason, its not secure. Not only is the whole world under attack from hackers and viruses, the fact that someone is trying to hack their own phone to gain information that could ultimately cause damage to their computer or smartphone has no value to anyone. Don't get me wrong with social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter are safe but when they come to hacking and stealing data its almost useless. Its crazy how many times I've heard "their app for whatsapp" get hacked for password reset. In order to protect us it must be locked, and even then it's extremely hard to crack and unlock it. It's basically just the worst form of code ever written. At least half the time they really want you to buy them a phone but after that they delete all traces of your history until they can't find your account again. Trust me that is the worst, and I'd never wish to have this type of experience with mobile software.
So let's end this review on the good news, its Samsung, no apple. But with that comes a high risk, and that is how most smartphone companies handle the risks in recent years.
